In 1975, the Pismo Coast Village Corporation engaged in the business
of owning and operating a 400 space recreational vehicle park in Pismo
Beach, California. Today, Pismo Coast Village celebrates 32 years of successful
operation.
In the words of former Board President Ronald L. Nunlist, "The first
Board of Directors, ..., had a vision. They wanted to bring our park from
the reality of bankruptcy to becoming a park that was self-sustaining and
a haven for stockholders from their everyday routines. Not only has their
dream been realized, but exceeded. Many additions and improvement have
been made during the recent years, with many more being planned for the
future."
The first Board of Directors selected Norm Gould as its first board
president in 1976 and by 1977, the Corporation had paid off its $1 million
mortgage from Mission Federal Savings and Loan, celebrating the event with
a ceremonial mortgage burning at the annual stockholder meeting!
Pismo Coast Village RV Resort is also an active community
leader, sponsoring many local events and organizations, such as the
annual Clam Festival, Western Days, Special Children's
Christmas Party,
the Business Improvement Group, Pismo Beach Chamber of Commerce and many others.
